This home boasts 3” of closed cell foam on all exterior walls (including garage exterior walls), fiberglass batts in all interior walls and between floors to dampen sound, and R-49 in both the house and garage attic. Add that to the soaring ceilings, ample natural light, and a wooded lot- and you’ve got a beautiful, efficient home in the making.

Sound insulation is regular insulation used to dampen sound transmission instead of slow heat transmission. Used for interior walls and floor systems, it can greatly increase the comfort and privacy in a family home. It is especially common for blocking sound from laundry rooms, bathrooms, and mechanical rooms. However, it is also useful for Master Suites to maintain that all too precious commodity- silence. In this High-Performance house, we were delighted to install sound insulation into every wall. This means that everyone in the home will benefit from less noise pollution inside and out.
