Insulation · Eastern Iowa

The right insulation for every part of the building.

Attics, wall cavities, rooflines and retrofit spaces each ask something different of an insulation system. Thermal Shop matches the material and installation method to the assembly, the plans and the project goals.

How we choose the system

Material is only one part of performance. We look at where the thermal and air-control layers belong, what the plans and locally adopted requirements call for, how the cavity can be reached, and how the work will be inspected before recommending a system.

  • Assembly

Where the insulation sits (attic floor, roofline, wall, floor, or rim) and what is built around it.

  • Air and moisture control

Where the air barrier and any vapor control belong, and whether the insulation or a separate layer provides them.

  • Required performance

The thermal or sound-control target on the plans or in the specification, and the requirements adopted where the building is.

  • Access and finish conditions

Open framing, a finished wall, or a crawl-in attic: how the cavity can be reached, filled, and checked before it closes.

Built to the assembly. Installed for local inspection.

Thermal Shop works from the approved plans, the selected product documentation and the requirements adopted for the project's jurisdiction. We document installed depth or assembly details and coordinate questions before finishes cover the work.

How it works for homeowners
  1. Request a free estimate and tell us what you're working on and where.

How it works for contractors
  1. Request a bid with your plans, specs, and the work you want priced.
  2. Insulation is priced on its own bid, separate from gutters and shelving.
  3. We schedule around site readiness and inspections, and clean up the work area when the install is done.
